This is big news. This will further add the internal battle for control of the Gulf Cartel. Almost or most of the high ranking bosses have been either captured by the Army or have died in internal shootouts. X-2, Commadante Simple,Homero, Commadante Guerra, Gringo,and.others. Most of these guys have died in shootouts with other rival factions vying for control of the Gulf Cartel. Most of these battles occur in the outskirt small towns but the last time some of the high ranking captains along with their bosses have gone shooting each other in the streets and the fucking army and federal police are letting them go at it. When that happens people have reported that up to 80 Gulf Cartel gunmen including g several bosses and high ranking captains. Gunmen rolling in bullet proof trucks, some with reinforced steel. Shooting at each other like the wild waste. It's humiliating how the Tamaulipas state goverent as a whole have been kidnapped by the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas. All of this started with the betrayal of X-2 to his boss Metro 3. Metro 3 was one of the most respected bosses and probably replaced Castillo as the Gulf Cartel leader. Homero one of the Guillen brothers and last Guillen brother has always been peaceful and low key but he was busted a while ago before the betrayal of Metro 3 but nooo X-2 has always been a goon but he pussied out when the Marines came for him surrendering instead of fighting like his men did for him or the guys he sent as suicide squads to Nuevo Laredo, the headquarters of Los Zetas. Gringo had huge balls going to the bastion of Los Zetas. He accompanied his men in their mission to eradicate Los Zetas. It is rumored 300 Gulf Cartel men died in that incursion that last for 2 years and a couple months. Not sure how many "estacas" or hitmen squads Los Zeta lost. I'm sure they lost a lot too. To make Trevino ex Los Zetas leader stay close by to check how things were going on. To make matters worse X-20 tried to kill Mayo Zambada, the second most powerful Sinaloa Drug Boss and Co Leader of the Sinaloa Cartel on his way back on a meeting between him and Gulf Cartel leader Metro 3 and other top bosses or Gulf Cartel captains. Chapo cut ties with the Gulf Cartel after that. X-20 blamed the ambush on Los Zetas but it was well known he wasn't with the agreement the Sinaloa Cartel and Gulf Cartel made. So he killed his boss and declared himself the leader of the Gulf Cartel. Which up settled so many Gulf Cartel members which erupted into an internal war in Reynosa(one of the main HQ of the Gulf Cartel. All of top captains died and even Gringo died in those shootouts. Now the internal war has moved out of the HQs to outer towns. Now the lower ranking members occcassionally go at it. Now Mellado has been killed by the Army in a raid into his hideout. Which some of his men recorded shooting it out with the Army. Mellado was one of the highest and most respected members and always kept a low profile. It is rumored that he got snitched but who knows it is too early to tell. He was the last Los Zetas founder but he stayed loyal with his bosses and stayed with the Gulf Cartel. Same with Commadante Guerra but he was killed in an internal shootout a while back. It is said that some Gulf Cartel members didn't said trust him because of his Zeta past but it was not common to have cousins and family members stuck in the middle of the Gulf/Los Zetas split. Some los Zetas captains and local bosses switched sides back to the Gulf Cartel because of Gulf Cartel because of family ties. There was even rumors that some Los Zetas captain and local bosses had trities of seize fire with the Gulf behinds Z-40 back eventually switching sides.
