being on Facebook these days is like having your number listed in the phone book. in a way its almost strange if you're NOT on there. i don't see why a wise guy would be any less of a gangster for having a profile, to keep up with family, friends, and old neighborhood or classmate acquaintances. its not like they're on there posting status updates about planning hits, or using their page to take bets from gambling customers.

i think someone posted sal larca jr's facebook profile a while back. it wouldnt surprise me if a lot of the younger connected guys have profiles either

the worst was when someone, not sure if it was on this board or another, found the profile of a younger bonnano guy who got hit out on SI about 5 years ago (the last documented, official mob hit in NYC maybe?) and there were messages from the guy's kid like "wish you were still here", etc...

to me , thats taking our curiosity and interest in lcn a little too far

I say it all the time. These guys attract stalkers just like ballplayers, actors and musicians. It's really sick .

Im right there with ya cheech, im in my early 20s and ive never had a facebook, myspace, or a twitter or tumblr and i have no idea what the fuck a hashtag is.

I also do not have one. I was on it at one time but then found it boring and a waste of time. The final straw with it happened when someone I knew died and instead of their family members calling everyone they were friends with, people just kept posting about it on facebook. I did call people that we knew when I heard about it but it was just strange how instead of communicating via phone about a death or something serious happening people now just prefer to write it on facebook and hope everyone finds out.

Aussie, I doubt they're on facebook or if they are it's under a fake name as anyone can make an account.

Well, I'm almost 55. And I wouldn't even know how to sign-up. Nor do I have any desire to learn. But a lot of people enjoy it, so to each his own .

I think twitter is the creepiest thing ever (you dont have twitter do ya cheech? ). I don't have twitter, because I refuse to "follow" anyone around anywhere.

I do, however, have a fb and have been able to reconnect with elementary school friends that I thought I'd never see/hear from again, as well as keep in touch with family in Italy, who wouldn't be able to keep in as close of contact if not for fb.

o ya, I've seen my mom and my girlfriend(must be a lady thing) do it countless times, they sit down to eat a meal and the first thing they do is take a pic and upload it, and i just shake my head silently.

I'm afraid to ask, but I get the feeling that even your Mom is younger than I am (almost 55) .

My mom just turned 50 last year.
