For days I could listen to them go on and on with a big smile on my face. And they'd say, 'how can you stand it?' And I'd say, 'Because I've been with Del Griffith. I can't take anything.' And they'd say, 'I know what you mean. The shower curtain ring guy. Whoa!'"

All of the ones mentioned so far are great. Also My Cousin Vinny, Midnight Run, Get Shorty, The Jerk and The Burbs are among my favourites. I also really enjoy alot of subtle old comedies thanks to watching them with my mum when i was a kid. Like Bringing Up Baby, His Girl Friday, The Apartment, and City Lights. The Burbs is a very underrated classic. Love that movie. Another in my top 10 comedies of all time is The Big Lebowski. One of the most brilliantly written movies ever made.

Completely agree on Lebowski it's one of those movies that get's better every time you watch it, i'd also say Raising Arizona and Burn After Reading from the Coens. Another one for me would be Scorceses most underrated movie The King of Comedy.

My favorites:
"It's a Gift" - W.C.Fields "Duck Soup" - Marx Brothers "The Bank Dick" - W.C. Fields "The Producers" - Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder All classics. If we're gonna go back that far, I'll throw in "Some Like it Hot." Great movie, but i personally prefer The Apartment from Wilder.

Great movie, but i personally prefer The Apartment from Wilder. I LOVE "The Apartment". (I love anything with Shirley MacLaine from the late '50s through the mid '60s). Even though it has a funny side to it, I'd consider it a drama rather than a comedy, though.

And "Tommy Boy." Yeah, I said "Tommy Boy." It's on Comedy Central right now and I can't stop laughing. David Spade is very underrated as both a comic and a straight man.
Finally, something we agree on. You're being deliberately obtuse. We agree on plenty .

I like a lot mentioned. One movie I saw a year ago for the first time that draws my attention whenever I see it on is "Napoleon Dynamite." Almost every piece of dialogue is humorous, and his brother's wedding is hilarious. Another one of the greats. Made for very little money by former students here at BYU. Hey, you two. You both better stop posting in this section or you might find out that you have a few things in common .
