Having said that, remember that there is a camera crew nearby so they really are not alone.
Of course they are not going to "let" them die, but you have to wonder if they don't sneak them a little drink of water. I also wonder why we don't see them performing bodily functions? Maybe because they bring out the portable jungle-potty.
