Do you have Bill Bonannos latest book? In there, there´s a chart listing Conte as underboss in 1951. But I think it´s a mistake, creating the illusion of Conte being the underboss twice. But Bill didn´t make those charts, the co writer did and the co writer seems to be confused at times. I believe Anastasia´s original underboss was Tata Chirico, later replaced by Scalise.

Yes I fully agree with this. Lucchese was a master manipulator too. He should receive more credit for all the schemings and connivings that went on during that era.
