Came across this in NY Daily News, anyone know more about it? Thanks
The head of the Sicilian mafia sent a hit man to America to arrange the murder of Rudy Giuliani in the 1980s, Italian news media reported.
“Boss of bosses” Salvatore Riina targeted Giuliani because of his friendship with an anti-mafia judge in Sicily, Giovanni Falcone.
The plot to kill Giuliani, while he was US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, came to light during a trial in Sicily in which former Italian government officials are accused of agreeing to a peace pact with the mob in the 1990s.
During the trial in Palermo, it was disclosed that a former mafioso, Rosario Naimo, moved to the United States in 1965 and became the Sicilian mob’s senior representative in the US.
Naimo told investigators that a bloodthirsty mobster named Benedetto “The Beast” Villico arrived from Italy with a letter from Riina that ordered the assassination of Giuliani, the news agency ANSA reported.
But Riina dropped the plan when he realized that US law enforcement could retaliate by destroying the Sicilian mob, the website Palermo Today said.
Falcone wasn’t as lucky. He was assassinated by Riina’s men in 1992.
Giuliani has said in the past that he was targeted while he was mayor. “They offered $800,000 to kill me,” he said last year in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“Then toward the end of the time I was mayor, a particular mafia guy, who was convicted and put in jail for 100 years, put out a contract to kill me for $400,000,” he said. “I kind of felt bad that I went down in value.”
He appeared to be referring to Riina, who is serving multiple life sentences.

That is a crazy story! The American mob was the organization getting torn apart by the upstart Giuliani and NEVER would have thought up something like that. And here's the italian mob plotting to kill him just because he's friendly with another judge? This guy Riina is notorious for plotting things like this. He has threatened families of lawyers in Palermo while being in the can. Good find!

DelcoNostra e TommyGambino they are right , I know of a meeting of the Commission in 1987 , I think, where put it to a vote, whether to kill or not Giuliani.Gotti and Casso give the Ok , others don't, and it all came to nothing . Regarding Toto Riina he wasn't afraid to put at risk the Italian cultural heritage as well as the lives of poor innocent people with bomb attacks across Italy from 1992 to 1993 , until it was captured by Sergio de Caprio, said Captain Ultimo ( but apparently that in exchange for not searching the lair of Riina , Provenzano has sold he to the Carabinieri, because it was attracting too much attention on the Sicilian Mafia ) . Destroy the Sicilian Mafia ? Come on,only after the death of Falcone and Borsellino , there was a unanimous desire to destroy the Mafia, and we came close , but then he let go and the Mafia recovered from the blow . If Riina wanted Giuliani dead , will die not only him, but his wife , his children and all his relatives or his loved ones on which the assassins of Riina can kill. Today, more than 80 years still order to kill judges and other people from the Opera prison.

Today in the NY Post:
The notorious “Manhattan Madam” — who loves to boast that she provided hookers for ex-Gov. Eliot Spitzer — is facing up to five years behind bars after copping a plea Friday to being a drug dealer.
Former escort-service operator Kristin Davis, 38, pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court to illegally peddling hundreds of sleeping pills, muscle relaxants and other prescriptions pills between January and April of 2013.

Under the deal with the government, Davis isn’t admitting to charges that she also sold oxycodone and amphetamines. She only plead guilty to one of the four drug distribution and possession counts she was charged with in August. Each count carries up to 20 years in the slammer.
The feds say she sold the pills to a Manhattan dealer from whom she had bought drugs in the past, and who secretly began working as an informant after getting arrested in December 2012.
“Today Ms. Davis took responsibility for her actions,” her lawyer Dan Hochheiser told reporters following the court appearance.
Hochheiser said the plea deal will allow Davis to “get on with her life” and go back to school. Hochheiser declined to specify what the buxom bleach blonde would be studying or where she will be heading.
He also said he is hopeful she’ll avoid jail time when Judge Edgardo Ramos sentences her July 25.
Davis declined comment.
The notorious hooker booker made headlines last year when she filed papers to run as a Libertarian Party candidate for city comptroller. She had announced her brief campaign in July a day after Spitzer — who resigned in disgrace over a prostitution scandal — said he would challenge Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer for the Democratic nomination.

Davis’ escorts included foxy blond Rebecca Woodard, who claims in a new tell-all book that Spitzer lusted after violent sex — revealing in graphic detail how the love gov pinned her to a bed inside a posh, Murray Hill apartment and then gripped her by the neck until she feared for her safety.
The rough sex was scripted by Spitzer, who wanted his $1,500-a-session hooker to follow a role-play dialogue in which she would pretend she had just taken a self-defense class.
Davis has told Ramos that she is currently seeing a psychiatrist and taking the insomnia-relieving drug Ambien. In January, she told him she was previously heavily medicated for a five-year period through prescription meds and that it affected her “cognitive abilities.”

Imagine what New York would be like if that Rino had been killed or the mafia for that matter NY and the world would be a better place had that POS had been whacked.

Been there and done it I am very much for real, so if you ask, make sure you really want to know.
