Unless they do a special, they quit doing Mob Talk several years ago. Anastasia has his blog and some times Dave will do a "special" report making the Philly guys look more dangerous than Los Zetas. He should really get a life and try harassing some of the guys in North Philly the way he harasses the wiseguys. Wonder how that would turn out? lol
Without the whole "La Cosa Nostra" cultural cachet, the Philly Mafia would have ceased to receive any coverage years ago. Instead, everyone pretends like they are big time group and guys try to make a living writing about them. The FBI has a crew dedicated to these guys just because its good for their careers and those at the us attorney's office.
In reality, a North Side drug gang probably whacks more guys in a month than the Philly Mafia has done in a decade. In 2012, over 300 people were killed in philly. The mafia possibly, maybe might have been involved in one. But dealing with real issues is not as interesting to cover or deal with apparently.
The difference is, what's left of the Philly mob has a history that goes back a century or so. It has the history and longevity, in addition to the "cultural cachet," that those other (and often more violent) groups lack.
Mods should mind their own business and leave poster's profile signatures alone.
