Gumba could have read to sick kids and old people in hospitals in his spare time... but that still doesn't do away with the fact that he had some very serious allegations leveled against him before he died. Obviously, he was never convicted of them in this world but he was implicated in several murders by a guy who from most accounts was a very credible witness. These guys have to live double lives - it's all a part of the game. Maybe he fooled all of those firefighters and old ladies in the neighborhood, but if you are as connected as you say you are, you should have been able to see through that charade.
