I understand that nobody knows for sure, but do you think any of the LCN families made any members in 2013?

All 5 of the NY families without a doubt, a lot of the old timers are dying or retiring. I've heard from many on here that the Colombo's and Bonanno's are making guys on a regular basis to try and rebuild, it will never work though. Like John Gambino said in the meeting with Scoops that Skins recorded, something like... 'It's quality we need, not quantity'

The Gambino's and especially the Genovese family are more powerful (Not just because of their size)they are more selective with who they make. A massive chunk of the Colombo and Bonanno families seem to be nothing more then street thugs, like most of the Philly guys.

The bonanos are so desperate they r makin guys without commission approval. The lucheses supposedly put a hit on one of the guys and attempted to clip him in east Harlem last year. The hit was botched. Hit everyone got the cue that up still gotta get ok'd

The extent to which the Commission still even exists or effectively makes any calls at all can be called doubtful. You had the last meeting in 1985 (http://www.nydailynews.com/boss-rat-jose...rticle-1.114750).

I guess instead you have mini meetings between some guys in two or three families. There is probably some limited made list passing as well (like gotti jr's list that was found).

So does it make sense for the Genovese family to represent all these families outside NYC when the commission doesn't meet? Does the commission have the authority it had in days past?

I often wonder if there is anything important enough outside of NYC anymore to contact the commission.

Philly Boston Rhode Island n Chicago pretty much do what they want w out New York input. It's interesting to note that Wilmington Delaware has elements of ny and philly present there and Baltimore is entirely gambino territory.

How much input does the commission have I New York anymore? Don't old guys complain about the loss of discipline and respect for tradition and authority? Do some guys or families not see the commission as authoritative and just ignore it? Does the commission still have the teeth to enforce its will anymore?

Of course the New York families made members in 2013, they are on autopilot still I believe. When A member of one of the crime families dies, that family can induct another member but still has to confer with the other four families on the prospected member first. I do not know if they do that with retired members, but seeing how some families bring back retired members, I am incline to think that they do not induct another member for the retired member until those retired members die.

Luan, Boston n Rhode Island got their own thing. Really north of new haven n franklin ave in Hartford is all new England's territory. Ct has the genoveses n gambinos sharing ground w the remnants of the patriarca family. The colombos had a crew there but no more . Boston's Hanover street in the north end still has a lotta Sicilians . The north end neighborhood is legit. The guys in providence Rhode Island and boston make up the patriarcha family.
Philly always was their own family but they lost their seat on the commission years ago when scarfo was whacking so many guys. When uncle joe took over he helped them get their seat back. But even then the genoveses wanted to take that family over in a hostile takeover. Never happened. They got a few Sicilian zips so they stay tight w the gambinos which is run by the zip faction.
