Salvatore is what I -think- the author meant, but I can't confirm. Like I said, I can't vouch for the integrity of the article and it was the only article I could find on the incident which is slightly odd.

Read the comments where the person is claiming to have some knowledge of the situation. The way he writes reads fairly similarly to our facebook fraud.

Edit 2: The above article, in the comments (not the article itself), mentions Daniel wanting to become a chef. I found this article on a chef named Daniel Bonanno:
