Dominic Mallamo was my uncle and he was not a part of the Cleveland Family, although listed there because of his close association with Tony Milano and the old Mayfield Road Mob. Mallamo was made in Reggio, Calabria and again in NYC. He was head of the "Calabrese Organization" in Youngstown for many years when Youngstown was "wide open" territory. Once Cleveland & Pittsburgh wanted to expand, he aligned himself with John LaRocca and Antonio Ripepi from Pittsburgh. He was still very close Milano, Scalish and Lonardo as well as DelSanter, but for all intensive purposes, he ran his own organization in Youngstown from the 1940's-late 1970's, went into semi retirement in the early 1980's and passed the torch to his nephew, Vincenzo "Brier Hill Jimmy" Prato who was a Capo in the Pittsburgh Family.
