Stern, I have read FBI documents saying Battaglia was transfered back to the LA Family. Trust me. However, I can not find it at the moment. What I have found is this

According to the document I have read, but can not find right now, his transfer was granted. Now, you have to ask yourself why Battaglia wanted to transfer back, if Bonanno was still in the game? Battaglia was very close to both Joe and Bill Bonanno.
