This is why I asked my question earlier on the relationship between the mob and underage/bestiality/human trafficking stuff. I understand that members are angry and shocked over this story, but I thought the mob was into providing this kind of activity. The mob seeks out illegal items/activities that a portion of the public wants and they provide it for financial gain- such as drugs, prostitution, human trafficking/slavery, underage stuff, murder for hire, extortion, etc....
In addition to the Gambinos, I figured that Matty "the Horse" Ianello kept the Genovese family knee deep in the taboo sex activities. And I imagined he was involved with some really sick stuff in Times Square.
Despite the mob's long history of involvement in the sex trade, cases of direct involvement in kiddie porn stuff are few and far between. I don't think the vast majority of mafiosi, past or present, would condone that type of thing. In their way of thinking, while murder and a host of other crimes may be acceptable, child porn wouldn't be.
