preety cool chin had so much power he sends barney and ida up to boston to appoint the boss who I think would have been salemmi, heard he has cousins in the area. the patriarca got crushed in 1990. but how he controlled other families. john gotti in 1990 put stanfa as boss of that family, lots of power moves. chin had some captain spying on ida who was the official consig. no way if chin lived out his sentence would the fbi let him on the street. only real boss from them days out n about is jr patriarca.

I've said the exact same thing on many occasions. The Feds would have eventually tied Vince into another RICO predicate. No doubt in my mind.

Yeah I thought there was alot of good info in those briefs. I,m sure Chin did so much more than any other bosses in making sure his family was strong and keeping eyes on even his consig and wbo the hell else knows. Shit crazy in the 90's, but he seemed more sure of his postion than others then. I guees after he laid the groundwork out he must've thought he was good a d Savino must of really had his ear with Amuso telling him he's bad, then again im sure he thought Amuso was a crazy MF.

What's this about Gigante and Amuso?

Amuso came to Gigante telling him that peter savino was a rat and he wanted to kill him, but Gigante loved savino and he wouldnt believe, and Gigante wound up dying in jail bc of he refused to believe he was a rat.

Oh..... Savino the windows guy.

Talk about the boy who cried wolf. Amuso thinks everyone is a rat so Gigante just laughs it off when he accuses Savino.

Where did Amuso get the information from, his crystal balls?

Remember in Casso's book when Gigante, Mangano, Amuso and Casso were having a sit down? Amuso was demanding reparations from Gigante and started shouting and slamming his fist on the table. Casso said he felt like slapping Amuso.

Of course Carlo and Casso's account is far from reliable and they try to simultaneously make Casso seem more important then he was while portraying Amuso as a bumbling fool.

Still thought it sounded funny.

Barney moved a lot of heroin up into his thirties with guys who were around Sammy blacks crew, most who used to be apart of the purple gang during the 70s. remember that he started into the life at a very young age, his father already had him in the life by the time he died, then his (first) rabbi, Sammy black used him for everything. He was a killer and a earner, plus he was well placed for advancement. Chin took him under his wing later, loved him enough to make him a captain then his mouthpiece. From his position he expanded into the legit staple rackets, a lot of construction and garbage. Today he's still big into the carpenters union, garbage, and anything to do with cement. He's got a crew of big ex union/contractors. It has been a while since I've even thought about them, all I remember right now are guys like joe pont, Carmine Dellacava, Rudy Olivieri, the now deceased nick Auletta. Of the big guys in the family today from the Bronx, most of them came from either Sammy black or fat Tony salernos crew. Guys like Ernie, Artie Nigro, Rudy Santobello (died recently), all from the crew Barney took over. Ernie has become almost just as heavy as either Barney or Danny Leo or Cirillo. IMO, Barney can have the final say on anything in that family, but doesn't.

Christ, Nicky and Vinny DiNapoli made a fortune together. Between the two of them they owned half the waterfront property on Shore Road in New Rochelle. And for those unfamiliar with that area, it ain't cheap lol.

Nicky was a good guy (as far as those guys go). RIP.

And it's good to see you posting again, Skinny my boy smile.
