I just got the three-disc Criterion DVD of The Battle of Algiers and it is probably the best DVD I've ever seen (the only competition is their Cassavetes box set and perhaps the upcoming 5-disc version of Fanny and Alexander). The film itself is amazing, but the amount of extras is astounding. This is a must buy.

On Sunday I bought The Birth of a Nation for a staggering £6.97! COuldn't believe the price of it; when walking out of the shop after buying it, I felt as if I'd stolen it at that price! And then last night, as if one bargain wasn't enough, I ordered from Play.com Frankenstein and The Bride of Frankenstein, both for £6.99! Mick
