Not to bad actually TIS, had a couple of nights away with my good lady this week-end, down in Leeds, which was nice. Came home to find out that young Matty has become a ninja. Dressed all in black and armed with a plastic sword he hides away in little places all over the house, leaping out to stab people when they pass. He is capable of stashing himself away for hours at a time. This bodes well for his career as ninja, or a serial killer......

It's always the quiet ones, Yogi! Did you ever notice that? Whenever they interview the neighbor of a serial killer, they always say, "But he was such a quiet man..."

I found a stray kitten naer the back dumpster behind my wife's businees place. I took her home, gave it water, which she sipped from the cap of a gallon jug, and fed her with a bay spoon. She looked like a new kitty the next morning, and we found her a good home with a family whose mom works for my wife.

I'm going to hang out behind the dumpster. Skip the cap, the gallon jug will be fine...with Yuengling Lager. Just funnin' ya Kly. What ever we do for the least of God's creatures....

Actually, the kitty went with a high school girl, who interns for my wife. She said that she took the kitten home and when she started crying at 3 am, she held her until she fell back to sleep in her arms. Her dad, a police seargent, took the day off work to spend with the kitten as he immediately fell in love with her. So it looks like the little warm bundle of fur will get the love she deserves.

I have three rescue cats, and can't tell you how great they are. I also have a dog, and love her, but a dog's love is automatic. A cat's love needs to be earned, so it's very special.

My 5 cats rule this house. The 3 older ones who are all 17 now lay about on the sofa all day and they stink, but so does Mrs Yogi and I love her so the cats can be no different

A first in my life. A chicken egg with two yolks. I was making a breakfast of two eggs and toast. One egg was shaped oddly; longer than the rest. When I cracked it open into the pan - two yolks. Would they have been twin chickens? SB, you're a chicken farmer; what do you think?

I have often gotten a double yolk egg, although not from my own chickens. I'll check with the girls and get back to you!

MC, apparently double yolk eggs aren't all that uncommon. When we had our sitdown in Chicago (2004) we all went to breakfast together in a diner that advertised double yolk eggs. We were all hungover and spent the hour there discussing those eggs while scarfing them down.

According to a Catholic bishop in Springfield, Illinois, Satan was behind his state's recent legalization of same-sex marriage.

So, next Wednesday, at about the same time Gov. Pat Quinn signs the gay marriage bill into law, Bishop Thomas Paprocki will hold an exorcism ceremony "in reparation for the sin of same-sex marriage."

I sure do. EVERY egg seemed to be double yoked. No complaints from me. I can handle it.

I'm sure Pope Francis is shaking his head. There is a lot of red tape and lengthy internal procedures before the Church allows exorcisms as it is a dubious practice that the Church would rather leave in the Middle Ages. I guess permission can be sidestepped when the purpose of the exorcism is for a cheap political stunt.

I wonder if the bishop considered an exorcism or blamed Satan for the Church's ongoing cover up of pedophile priests.

I recently hit a deer on a local road. It was hit by an oncoming pickup truck and driven airborne, landing just below my front end. As it was a dark, unlit two lane winding road, I didn't see it until it hit me. I drove over it at about 40 mph, and could hear it wail as it was under me.

My house was only a half mile away and I was surprised that there wasn't as much damage to the front end, but the deer destroyed the reservoir for the antifreeze, which drained out.

Last night another deer was hit in the same place. The deer are in rut, and this has been the worst year that I remember for accidents involving deer. Hunting season can't start soon enough, I guess.

Interesting. But I found a great children's book on the same subject entitled Bambi and the Car Grill.

We have an abundance of them here as well, Klyd. Suburban overdevelopment has driven them out into the streets.

Here's a little story for you. One of my husband's friend's family used to serve venison quite often. Venison meatballs and spaghetti, venison parmigianna, and so on. I just assumed that the dad was a hunter. Nope. He was a policeman, and he often kept the carcass as a first responder to a deer vs. car accident.

We have a nature park quite close to us, which also houses the racecourse for the city. There are apparently deer which roam in the park but I have never seen any. One night a few years ago after a works do at the racecourse (where the drinks were free) we missed all taxis and had to stagger home through the woods. We saw no deer but quite a few glue sniffers and weird hippy types who may or may not have been druids. Pleased to say that they were more alarmed at the sight of us than we were of them
