Two younger members of the Gallo gang (Joe Gallo was not present) started an argument with Neil inside the Luna Restaurant on Mulberry Street. Two ex boxers and friends of Neil, who were standing outside, saw the commotion, jumped inside and gave the Gallo gang members a severe beating.
