Pittsburgh has "ALWAYS" been under the supervision of NY, as NY represented most east coast smaller families. Ever since John Bazzano Sr. (former boss of Pittsburgh) was ice picked to death in Brooklyn in 1932 for not getting permission from the commission to whack the Volpe brothers.
Jace-New York represented the LaRocca Family, Scalish Family and Bufalino Family as well as the Philadelphia Family and Buffalo family since the beginning of LCN. I know I'm missing one or two, but you get what I'm saying? Chicago represented Milwaukee, Kansas City etc.
Haven't things changed drastically since 1932 ? Past 20 years the New York Families can't even kill their own turncoats. A few live openly in area, like Bill Cutolo's son. Pittsburgh would seem out their reach now.
