Sources say Limone weighed in on dispute.(News) Article from: The Boston Herald | April 3, 2003 | Richardson, Franci | Copyright
Byline: Franci Richardson
When Michael Barry began trying to get a new trial for his murderous mobster brother with the intention of blaming the slaying on another wise guy, sources said he knew he needed the proper La Cosa Nostra blessing.
So, nearly a year ago, Barry, 37, took his brother's case not only to Boston's newly annointed underworld kingpin, Carmen DiNunzio, but also to another man close to DiNunzio, Peter J. Limone.
Limone, 68, reputedly involved in the Boston Mafia dating back to the 1960s, was let out of prison two years ago after serving more than three decades for a murder he apparently did not commit. That Limone is now a frequent companion of DiNunzio, even as he pursues a lawsuit against the government for wrongful imprisonment, is not lost on state investigators.
At a meeting with DiNunzio and Limone last year, sources said Barry, a charismatic …

No new trial for wiseguy murder team.(News) Article from: The Boston Herald | August 23, 2003 | Richardson, Franci | Copyright
Byline: by FRANCI RICHARDSON
Two mob killers who tried to frame two wiseguy pals for their 1999 gangland-style murder have been denied a new trial, a superior court judge ruled.
In a 34-page decision released yesterday, Middlesex Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Butler denied a new trial bid by Anthony Barry, 36, and Brian Cahill, 39, and they will continue serving life sentences for the murder of Kevin "Mucka" McCormack, 29.
"We are pleased that the judge's decision today confirmed our belief that the defendants in this case received a fair trial the first time around and that the jury reached the correct verdict," Middlesex District Attorney Martha …

Phil myers Spearheaded by antiracketeering agents from the US Department of Labor, the federal investigation has been looking at Local 25's dealings with the movie industry since early 2000. The investigation was spurred by complaints from film producers that they had been pressured by Local 25 chiefs to hire more drivers and pay more costly benefits for movies they were planning to shoot in the area. The grand jury is also looking into whether moviemakers were forced to hire a local company to provide rental vehicles, such as wardrobe trailers, on movie sets, sources said. Flynn owns the company, Location Connection, and it was hired to provide rental vehicles on the set of ''Mystic River,'' one person familiar with the film's production said. The same grand jury handed down a 179-count indictment in January 2002 against Teamsters Local 25 president George W. Cashman and vice president William Carnes. They were charged with embezzling from the union by fabricating work hours to allow 19 drivers, including a reputed Charlestown gangster, to collect illegal health benefits. While the case against Cashman is scheduled to go to trial April 22 in federal court in Boston, law enforcement officials, who asked not to be identified, said that additional charges against Local 25 members involving the movie industry are likely. As recently as October, Fred M. Wyshak Jr., the lead federal prosecutor in the investigation, said in court that more charges against Teamsters officials are possible. In June 2000, Labor investigators, as well as those from the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the Massachusetts State Police, raided Flynn's Weymouth home and seized records relating to the movie industry. Around the same time, the grand jury subpoenaed records from Local 25's Charlestown headquarters, detailing the union's contracts with producers of ''The Perfect Storm,'' ''Cider House Rules,'' ''Good Will Hunting,'' and ''Message in a Bottle.'' Wyshak said in court last October that an organized crime figure from Charlestown will testify at Cashman's trial that local movie crews are marbled with criminals and their friends and associates. The witness, Philip Myers, testified at another trial last year that Cashman was forced at gunpoint to put reputed Charlestown gangster John ''Mick'' Murray on the Teamsters movie crew. Myers claimed that he, Murray, and another Teamster menaced Cashman during a 1995 meeting at the 99 Restaurant in Charlestown. All major film companies must negotiate with Local 25 for the hiring of drivers for trucks, limousines, vans, and major pieces of equipment used on movies made in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. http://www.combatsportsboston.com/instructors.php

phil myers http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Three+Charlestown+Men+Arrested+on+Drug+Trafficking+Charges.-a053019517Pair of Charlestown brothers arrested in DEA cocaine sting. Article from: The Boston Herald | September 23, 1998 | Donlan, Ann E. | Copyright An ex-con from Charlestown who police believe was reaping the benefits of South Boston drug profits in Mob boss James J. "Whitey" Bulger's absence faces a maximum life sentence on cocaine charges. Philip J. Myers, 45, a convicted killer and bank robber, will be in U.S. District Court tomorrow on charges he tried to steal and then distribute 6 kilograms of cocaine. "They were in town," one source said of Myers' presence with South Boston wiseguys in various bars within the last year. A separate five-count federal indictment charges Myers' brother, Paul F. Myers, and Stephen A. "Buttsy" Carr, with cocaine conspiracy and distribution between October … http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1914&dat=19980923&id=gPgpAAAAIBAJ&sjid=xmoFAAAAIBAJ&pg=3248,3913634 Boston: A probe into Teamsters Local 25 in Boston, investigators are reportedly now probing allegations that Local 25 president George W. Cashman vetoed a plan to kill a member of another union, agreeing instead to have her beaten last month "to send her a message." Investigators are reportedly probing an Aug. attack on Susan Christy, a snack truck driver on the movie set of "What's the Worst That Could Happen" and a member of the International Association of Theater & Stage Employees. Allegedly, James P. Flynn, a reputed mobster and ex-con who runs the Charlestown-based Teamsters' movie crew, ordered Christy to quit so Teamster Robert Martini could take over her concession contract prior to the start of filming this summer. When Christy refused, Flynn reportedly threatened that her equipment would be "severely damaged" if she continued to work, investigators have been told. Flynn -- whose house was searched and whose records were confiscated by federal agents in June -- allegedly told Martini that Christy would have to be "killed" or others would "lose respect" for Flynn. Flynn allegedly selected Martini to do the killing because Martini would be the one to benefit. Martini is an ex-policeman who was removed after being convicted of insurance fraud in 1989. On August 15, Bartley Small, a Teamster driver on the set, allegedly pulled Christy from her truck by her hair, tossed her against the vehicle, and slapped and scratched her face while the movie was being shot. Christy's truck was allegedly vandalized by Small several times before she was attacked. Christy is the second IATSE member reportedly beaten for refusing Local 25 demands. During the filming of "Cider House Rules" in 1998, an IATSE technician was brutally assaulted by several Teamsters for refusing to allow Local 25 members to drive his personal van. Convicted Massachusetts bank robber James McCormack was arrested recently on charges that he plotted to sell cocaine and, along with two friends, kidnapped and beat a former drug dealer in a bid to extort $1 million. McCormack, while not a Teamster, has strong ties to Charlestown-based IBT Local 25, which is under investigation for allegedly extorting moviemakers who film around New England. McCormack's alleged partner in a cocaine deal is Philip Myers, a Charlestown crime figure and ex teamster turned government informant who has been reportedly aiding the federal probe involving Local 25 and the movie industry. McCormack was allegedly involved but was never indicted in the trial of five men convicted in a string of bank robberies, including a 1994 armored car heist in Hudson, N.H., in which two guards were killed. Four of the men convicted in the case were members of Local 25 who worked on movie sets. http://nlpc.org/stories/2002/02/18/indicted-boston-boss-targeted-mob

AG: Duo use muscle to take cash.(News) Article from: The Boston Herald | May 11, 2006 | Sweet, Laurel J. | Copyright
Byline: LAUREL J. SWEET
Two reputed wise guys - who sources say are suspects in "several" unsolved murders - have allegedly put the bite back in loan-sharking, using knives, guns and baseball bats to persuade debtors to cough up cash, according to Attorney General Tom Reilly and state police special services investigators.
William "Billy" Angelesco, 35, of Chelsea, a "made man" in the Mafia, according to sources, and his crony Gene Giangrande, 33, of Malden extorted thousands of dollars from at least four victims over the past 17 months, authorities said.
In Middlesex Superior Court yesterday, where the pumped-up pair were scheduled to be arraigned …

SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THEFT OF HERALD TRUCK
The Boston Globe (Boston, MA) November 24, 1989 | Adrian Walker, Contributing Reporter | Copyright Permalink MEDFORD - The Army may be more than a job, but a Medford man wanted no part of it and tried to avoid serving his hitch by creating an adventure, Medford police said.
Police said Billy Angelesco was one of three men who stole a Boston Herald newspaper delivery truck from outside a Store 24 late Wednesday night. Angelesco, 18, was due to report to Fort Dix, N.J., on Tuesday to begin basic training.
"He said he'd volunteered but he thought he wouldn't be able to go if he was arrested," said Officer William Butts.
The bizarre tale began when the Herald driver reported that two men had stolen his truck and were driving through Medford Square. According to Butts, …
Billys first arrest, thought people would get a kick out of it.... wonder if that medford cop would ever think this kid will go on to be one of the few hitmen of his generation.
