I'm pretty sure he's deffinitly Sonnys wife's child, the dispute is to whether his father was her first husband last name Grillo(I think), or Franzese himself who she was allegedly already seeing at the time of his conception, either way he's Italian he's just not necessarily Sonny's son, somebody correct me If im wrong

First of all, he was not adopted. After first marriage, his mother got custody and married Sonny, his stepfather. As TonyBoy wrote, his bio father's last name was Grillo. It's all mentioned in his book Blood Covenant, an excellent read. Thanks, well i guess that explains it. Was Grillo a mob guy or a civilian? Michael in the interviews i've seen always calls Sonny his father, like he has no contact with his biological father. Maybe Sonny got rid of him. lol I bet Sonny at this point wishes the other son John Jr wasn't his kid, what a low life that guy is. Has he surfaced since ratting on Sonny that last time? Never read any of Franzese's books, i probably should check out that one book of his. I always wondered if he bought his way out of the mob. Thanks again....you too Tony.

Would you consider Snooki to be Italian, even though that troll was adopted from Colombia? Or Hayden in the Godfather? If it's not in their DNA and blood line then they are not Italian. I answered the Snooki question. But you mean Hagen??? If so then no because he wasn't with them since infancy or anything. He was a boy when he was taken in. And he was never adopted so those weren't legally his parents.

I'm not sure what the deal with Michael Franzese's ethnicity is. But if he's not born to italian parents then to me he's not italian and i don't care who adopted him. I never read his book, does he mention his birth parents at all? Did Sonny and his wife know them? I have a feeling Sonny vouched for him and said he had italian birth parents. But i don't know that as a fact. Anyone? Personally I disagree. If I adopted a kid and he was with me since infancy I would consider him to be whatever I was and my wife was. Because that's the way he grew up. That's all he knows. And at the end of the day, when people look at the last name they say "He's italian". And when his grand kids and great grand kids want to look up their ancenstry they're going to look up the last name and its going to trace back to Italy. Not Ireland or Germany or anything like that, but Italy. Snooki and all the jersey shore people are a disgrace to Italians. But you should ask her what she considers herself. It's not up to me or anyone else to decide what she is. This topic came up in another thread. And you are right, it's not up to you. It's up to DNA. An Italian family can raise an adopted kid from birth, and he can be totally immersed in the culture, but that doesn't make him Italian or give him Italian blood.

It was brought up here first. And like I said in the other thread. I think you're way off and I disagree. And I don't think you have the right to tell someone what they are. A DNA test doesn't go back to the beginning of time. So that can't trace your ancestory back 100%. Have to agree with your sentiment on this. A DNA test can tell you who your parents are, but to go beyond this it gets pretty idiotic, especially when you consider migrations and the fact that Italians and many other europeans are far from homogeneous.

If you're born in the US, you're american, first of all, no matter what culture you identify with. If you want to trace your roots, you need to start with your birth parents. If an african baby is with a chinese foster family from birth, they're chinese? Next they're with a german foster family and now they're german? "Oh please let a russian family take me in next, I've always wanted to be russian!!" I'm caemine and I'm from Sicily. Caccamo born amd raised. Carmela where ae you from on the is lsland.
My name is caemine not carmine.
