'Trigger' Lee Burke was said to have been a heavy hitter on the west side back in the 50's before he was said to have went laughing to the chair in Sing Sing sometime in the 50's so legend has it. His body count was very high.

Mad Dog Joe Sullivan notched up at least 30 hits according to his own accounts. Once you get to 30-35 you stop counting he says.

I'd say the mob's hired trigger men would have to have notched some of the highest body counts. That's whhat they're payed for, that's what they do. The mob ruled through fear. It was guys lke these that gave the mob the fear it thrived on.
