I'll never forget the atmosphere at that time. We lived in Orange County and although most all of his crimes were in L.A. area, one of his murders was in Orange County. It was dead of summer, hot and with no air. My husband worked nights, and I was afraid to sleep with my windows open (that's how he was entering homes, thru open windows), let alone in my bedroom, so I slept on the couch. I actually had a vacuum cleaner part ready to attack just in case. lol

I'll never forget the applause of the crowd when he was captured. As we watched on tv, we see his battered/bandaged head from crowd attacks, as he was guided in the cop car.

The guy was downright creepy!!!
