If I had to speculate, even though Pisciotti was a made guy, and Ianniello's nephew wasn't, Umberto's was obviously well known as Matty's place. So, Piscotti's behavior there, including the assault, was seen as disrespect to the Horse himself. And that's a sitdown Pisciotti wasn't going to win, member or no member.
