Montreal police along with the Sureté du Quebec, the RCMP, and police in Terrebonne and Laval took down a major drug cartel running in the city.

Montreal police commander Ian Lafreniere says the drug network was operating out of Italian cafes.

Lafreniere adds the group does not have links to the Rizzuto crime family.

"We are talking about young people who are taking the place of other people that have been there, and we'd like to tell you that this group is with Vito Rizzuto or Raynald Desjardins, but that is not the case...."
