Mike Huckabee says this Benghazi thing will end up with serious issues, and it would allow them to consider Obama's impeachment. Ordinarily I would write such nonsense off as the usual drivel that oozes from Fox "news," but given the make-up of the House of Representatives, and their reluctance to do anything, a witch hunt and impeachment scenario would -- in their minds -- probably be a goo thing politically. It would burn about one year of time, so they could avoid Immigration, Gun Control and other issues, and it would allow them to go for Obama's legacy and all the while trash Hillary. They would also see it as a way for the GOP to reclaim the "tough on terrror" label they have lost. I am not saying this is a sound idea, but it is a definite possibility.

Some on this board seem to keen to blame Fox news and the GOP for any political issue that goes wrong in this country. You wanna blame someone? How about both of the arrogant pricks on BOTH political parties who still refuse to cooperate with each other in the face of one of the most uncertain times in our history. well said sir! one of the biggest problems facing us today is this silly devotion to one team or the other. yes fox news sucks, but anyone claiming that while at the same time looking to msnbc as a beacon of truth and honest unbiased reporting should really have their house inspected for lead paint. how about this novel concept: lets actually put partisan politics aside for a bit and try to find out what happened in benghazi, and hold them accountable, even if they have a D next to their name. Well said, Five Felonies. For once I am in total agreement with you.

Ok, what is going on with the world recently. I thought this thread was old, but it is from TODAY? TUHDAY!!!!
Gosh women trapped for 10 years??? People shooting up schools?? Psychos gassing theaters???
But believe me, Obama won't be impeached. After all Bill Clinton got away from being impeached or at least got off easy.
Now if it was Romney, they would be plastering him with impeachment papers.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, there are several posters on this forum who are totally for "Team Obama" and "Team Democrat." I've seen it over and over again. They have no objectivity whatsoever. Some of them pay lip service to being fair but it's a charade.

Olivant, your long term analysis is correct, however there are some in the House who are short term thinkers who are beholden to "the base." My concern is some wacko proposes it in a committee, and through fear of being "primaried" it gets to the floor of the House where Boehner loses control. No chance of a "conviction" in the Senate, but there are some people in the House (and in the contry) who would go to any length to tarnish Obama in this way. If I were in the GOP and a long term thinker, I would advise this issue hang around to be used against Hillary in 2016.

I have no idea who should go down for Benghazi. Obama? Hillary? Others? But we do know that A) somebody screwed up the protection the embassy should have had; and B) the administration (in the typical liberal PC way) lied about what caused the attack, scrubbing any mention of Islamic terrorists. And now, after sitting on it as long as they could, even the mainstream press outlets are now finding themselves forced to report on it. It's also amusing, though not surprising, to see the usual partisan hacks on this forum doing their best to defend their guy here.

Now there's this: IRS singling out of 'Tea Party' being investigated
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An investigation of the Internal Revenue Service was launched on Friday after a senior IRS official publicly apologized for subjecting conservative political groups to "inappropriate" scrutiny.
In a practice that drew complaints during the 2012 election campaign, groups with the words "Tea Party" or "patriots" in their names were flagged for closer IRS review when they applied to the agency for tax-exempt status.
"We would like to apologize for that," said Lois Lerner, director of the IRS tax-exempt office at an American Bar Association conference. She said the practice "was absolutely incorrect and it was inappropriate."
Lerner said screening of the conservative groups was "absolutely not" influenced by the Obama administration.
In what could be a major embarrassment for the IRS and a potential distraction for President Barack Obama, the matter is under investigation by the IRS inspector general. Full Article
