I actually think The Elephant Man is Lynch's masterpiece, and further proof of his bravura ability to manipulate his audience's emotions. Blue Velvet isn't too far behind The Elephant Man, though, and it is certainly the summation of Lynch's work. I haven't seen Mulholland Dr. though.
