I've only seen Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr. from David Lynch (The Elephant Man should be coming soon), but he is one of my favorite contemporary directors. I actually think Mulholland Dr. is a better film than Blue Velvet, but both are masterpieces (and both are in my top 100).
