Winters was THE true comic genius of my lifetime. The only one who could even compete with him for that title is Robin Williams. Watching the two of them go off on a roadtrip while performing was an immediate flashback to the '60s for me.
IMO, Winters stole the movie, "Mad Mad World" and his tv roles had to be diluted for the medium but he was always fun to watch, and I will miss him.
Indeed! Robin Willams is pretty darn good, but still falls behind Winters. Do you remember the Mork & Mindy episodes that teamed those two. It wasn't quite the improvisation or comedic fest that it was expected to be. But by then Winters was approaching 60 and the sitcom environemnt wasn't meant to showcase that duet.
