Interesting Yogi. Obviously I can't consistently tell most of the British or related accents apart but I believe that actor is actually Irish. I wonder if the accent he's using in the show is his own. I'll listen more closely next time.

Indeed you are right Lilo, well spotted. Checked on imdb and he is Irish. Why is he sporting a north eastern accent then??

About this show, I'm really waiting for the last book to come out so I could spoil the rest of the story for myself. Mind you, not by actually reading it, but by going through the abridged plot on the wikipedia. lol The series is moving too slowly. I really can't wait years to know what happens in the end. tongue

Given the author's advanced age, weight, interest in other projects and slow writing style you might be waiting a while. rolleyes He did tell the HBO creators the general outline of how he currently sees the story ending in case he passes on or the show catches up to the books.

I'm not sure why the last time I checked "A wiki of ice and fire" I was under the impression that only one book is left. Goodness gracious, there's a 7th book left and with no end in sight for the 6th. frown Back to plans for water-boarding Martin. shhh

I'm sorry but Brienne beating Jaime Lannister in a sword fight was soooooo not believable; even with his hands chained.

And how HOT is Margaery (played by Natalie Dormer)? I remember her from The Tudors.

Possibly. Jaime is the best swordsman in the land bar none but his hands were manacled. He was losing but the fight wasn't over. It goes down a little differently in the book. Brienne is repeatedly referred to as a freak of nature by everyone who sees her. She's bigger and stronger than most men and much heavier than Jaime.

I like Dormer.

I felt Jamie just wanted to have some fun. lol Anyway, I'm not sure why I thought Theon was killed in the last season. Wasn't he giving a brave speech and then one of his men kill him in a funny turn of events? I'm losing my memory. ohwell

He gave a VERY rousing speech and then was hit from behind by one of his men. The series didn't show what happened after that.

Hmm... So he was not stabbed. I thought he was. Thanks. Also, about that brother and sister that found Bran, we didn't see anything about them in the last season, did we?

Nope. They should have been included last season. A lot of book purists were upset about that. cry rolleyes

Thanks! smile You know, this fate of character spoiling I've done for myself along with my bad memory has left me really confused. lol I think I had a dejavu when I saw that boy last night. But then that scene with Margaery, her grandmother, and Sansa made me grin widely, cause I know what's coming out of it. grin

At Entertainment Weekly Benioff and Weiss had this to say about the end credit song (which is actually a version of Martin's "Bear and The Maiden Fair")

Quote:
The wildly mismatched pairing of the violence and a rock song by a contemporary band was a very deliberate move.
“It’s such a shocking ending and when we read the scene in the books it was so shocking to us,” Weiss says. “To really hammer home the shock of that moment you need something unexpected. There’s no version of a traditional score that would keep you as off balance as we wanted that scene to leaving you feeling.”
“I can’t imagine having that conversation with Ramin [Djawadi] our composer — ‘Now we need the Jaime-gets-his-hand-chopped-off music,’” adds Benioff. who made his directorial debut with this episode. “What we always loved in An American Werewolf in London, we see our hero shot and killed and then his lover runs to embrace his dead body — it’s a sad ending — but then we cut to black and it’s [the bouncy 1961 Marcell's hit] ‘Blue Moon.’ And that jarring juxtaposition was fantastic.”

Yeah, there's no denying that it matched the ending, but it was just soooooo unexpected.

And I must add, although I've read what happens to most of characters, it still came as a shock. This series is that good. grin

Loving this season so far. Great show... period. Good to see Jaime act like a human being. Out of character for a Lannister! BTW - great avatar, afs!

The essence of last night's episode was about underestimating people and revenge. The Daenerys ending was fantastic. And I intend to find that music. But the Varys/Tyrion scene as well as the Tywin/Cersei scene were both enjoyable.

Say what you will about Tywin, but if it's about to get dangerous, I want him on my team.

Wasn't the music work of Djawadi? It sure sounded like his. His works just sound too close to home for me. He mixes our music with Western music and the result is just too intriguing. Everyone knows a bit of their own in there and it takes you to the corners that have not been explored before.

As for Tywin, he is all right, but I really can't reconcile with his treatment of Tyrion.

BTW, was that sorcerer the same one that was preparing wildfire potions or was it someone else?

I'm pretty sure the sorcerer in a box was someone else. If we're talking about the same person the cackling pyromancer from Season 2 was played by the British actor Roy Dotrice, who is a friend of Martin's and does the readings for the audiobooks.

Maybe it was Djawadi. He's done soundtrack work for the series before. Whoever it was I need that music for my own personal soundtrack.. lol
