There is no way that MLB would allow a two week midseason break in the prime revenue generating months of regular season play. Keep in mind that all of the MLB players, who participated in the classic, did so only because they were graciously permitted to play by MLB. Their contracts, which are far more valuable than anything the Classic offers, limit their play to their respective MLB teams.

The Classic is only an exhibition. It's a fun spectacle to watch over a few games in the preseason, but what really matters is the MLB campaign.
