Rick Huxley, who played bass in the '60s group The Dave Clark Five, died February 11 at age 72. While no official cause of death has yet been announced, Huxley suffered for years from emphysema brought on by heavy smoking. This leaves drummer/leader Dave Clark and guitarist Lenny Davidson as the only surviving members of the group.

Legendary British makeup artist and designer Stuart Freeborn passed away February 5 at age 98. Largely self-taught, his career spanned more than half a century. He designed makeups for Oliver Twist (1948 version), Dr. Strangelove, 2001: A Space Odyssey, the original Star Wars trilogy, and countless others.
