So far the cops have shot several innocent people in their hunt for this guy including a 71 year old woman and her daughter who were delivering newspapers.

News reporting a "flurry of activity" in Big Bear in regards to "Dorner." Reports say two people found tied up in a house and a car chase in Big Bear, but details are sketchy. Earlier, they were questioning if Dorner had help.

Now they are reporting a gun fight on the highway by Big Bear Lake. One officer wounded. Wow, this may be coming to an end.

The LA Times says it's Dorner. Earlier today i read they thought he crossed the border into Mexico but i guess not. Sounds like they have him cornered now.

It does seem as tho it IS him. I'm hearing that in his "manifesto" he assumed he'd go down fighting. It sounds like he was hiding at a cabin, tied people up. One got away and called the police. I would have thought he'd be out of the area by now. In any case, hopefully this is the end.

TMZ is reporting "the L.A. City Fire Dept. is airlifting the L.A.P.D. SWAT team to Big Bear so they can help with the standoff."

So they're bringing in the pro's with some real firepower to finish this thing with Dorner. LA is supposed have a real good highly trained SWAT team.

Yes, it's been on all our local channels here for a couple hours. They say he's got a lot of weapons at his disposal. I'm thinking (hoping) we are nearing the end. They reported that one of the deputies Dorner shot has died.

SC, I'd say Big Bear is about 60 miles or so away from me. It is as you can tell, in the mountains and is a popular resort area but of course people reside there permanently as well. My daughter and her family rented a cabin there last summer. (it's beautiful in the summer but freezing in the winter, depending on which season you like). I've only been there a couple times years ago. It is very scenic.

Local news is saying there seems to be a new development (they are so anxious to report you know.)

Ok, some cabin is on fire. I just got out of the shower and am not certain what is on fire, other than a cabin. They "Think" Dorner may have set fire.

That's pretty much what CNN is reporting. They reported the SWAT team has entered the cabin and there is a LOT of smoke. Could be the end of this drama.

CBS is saying that their are tracks leading away from the cabin leading cops to think it's possible he took off. BUT, how far can he get on foot? Everyone is speculating tho.

There is speculation that he may have escaped the cabin and may be somewhere in the immediate vicinity, which could pose an even bigger threat for law enforcement.

I'm not condoning anything that Dorner has done, but I do have sympathy for someone who fights against a corrupt system that screws so many people over, and LAPD is about as corrupt a system as there is. He is clearly not going about this the right way, and he will most likely die for this, whether during this conflict or by execution. But the LAPD needs to take their share of the responsibility for this mess, seeing as they facilitated this whole chain of events.

That little news conference by the sheriff's spokeswoman didn't shed any light on anything. The spokeswoman was a hottie, though.

Yea, the media can't stand not knowing info asap. They don't know if he escaped. Someone said they heard a shot sound as the fire started leading speculation that maybe Dorner killed himself. Another reports footprints leading away from the cabin. So bottom line, I don't think anyone knows. IF he killed himself inside the cabin I doubt they'd know anytime soon if it's Dorner for sure.

Who said this is playing out like a Hollywood movie? I think so.

State of the Union starts at 6:00. I'm sure they'll cut away to that.

Tho I can't claim to have any inside info on the LAPD, I agree Dorner's claims about NYPD should be investigated (after his capture of course). What bothers me is the LAPD investigating itself? I can't help but think Serpico.

Btw, I've only heard it reported twice, BUT the first young couple that Dorner killed (in Irvine I think) was the daughter (and her fiance') of the lawyer, (or maybe union rep?) who defended Dorner when they brought charges against him. Why them???
