Although many of you know I have two married daughters, what you don't know is my oldest daughter is due to have her second baby (my second grandchild) on March 1st. Last night she called me saying she was having contractions and needed me to go there to watch the other baby, so her and my son-in-law could go to the hospital. Needless to say, I flew down there, so excited and so happy to help out. Well about 3:00 a.m. they come home and no baby. False alarm). All thru this pregnancy the whole family seems to prefer that this baby not arrive on the 29th. (like we have a choice right?) I am wondering if there are any truths or myths in regards to being born on leap year. Hopefully good things. Logically and realisitcally it doesn't really matter, and we all know that. A healthy baby is the important thing, and believe me, none of us are losing sleep over this issue, but I wonder why there is such a feeling on all our parts because of the 29th of February. I mean, other than your exact birthdate coming every four years, what's the difference??? Anyone know anyone born on a leap year? I am back home now, but anticipate this could occur yet today, or at any rate, very soon, and have an overnight bag ready to go. I'm so excited!!! TIS

TIS, I wasn't aware that you were a grandmother anyway! Forgive me ignorance. Well, whether the baby is born on the 29th or not, I wish you and your family luck with the newborn (that sounds like it's a chore, which I didn't mean! ). I'm sure he/she will grow up to be just very handsome/beautiful, just like your daughter! And of course, they'll have the Sicilian brains too--and will be able to kick some ass of course! Mick

I read something in the newspaper over the weekend that in one family in England, the grandad, dad and daughter (ie 3 generations of the family) all celebrate their birthday on 29th Feb. What's the odds on that? Apparently its in the Guiness book of records. 29th Feb is also traditionally the one day of the year us girls can ask men to marry us, but I think I'll wait until Mr Bella Mafia UK asks me. Hopefully I won't have to wait until the next leap year!!! PS TIS hope everything is OK
...there's people who would pay a lot of money for that information. But then your daughter would lose a father..instead of gaining a husband.

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandparent's passing Iceman. I never knew my grandfathers, just my grandmothers. To this day, I miss them very much. My sympathies. Where in California? It's too bad this trip is for such a tragic reason. My best to you and your family. TIS

FINALLY!!!!!! MAY I ANNOUNCE THE ARRIVAL OF: Isabella Grace; born March 4, 5:00 a.m. The little darling weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs. 13 oz. and as you might expect from me is as beautiful as can be. Both mother and baby are doing well. I just got back from spending three days tending to things and plan to go help out again next week. Thanks everyone for letting me "boast" of this wonderful event, and for everyone's well wishes. Truly a wonderful blessing. TIS

It is about time we finally heard. I have worn a big spot in the carpet waiting! That is so great Tis! Congratulations, and may you enjoy all the coming years that you spend with your new family member.
