Elvis for me. There hasn't been a better singer/songwriter around in years comparable to the mighty Elvis Costello!!

Sinatra is just Sinatra, but Elvis is the King. Long live the King. I vote for Elvis.

Here's Frank Introducing EP, who sings a couple of my favorites: Fame & Fortune & Stuck On You. And, in the very End EP doing Witchcraft & Frank doing Love Me Tender in a duet. Film is kind of grainy but still, I Love it! smile Plus, I remember it when it aired. I think I was glued to the tv. LOL

A reluctant vote for Frank. No question Elvis had more raw talent and was more of an innovator, but after 1968 Elvis became a caricature of himself. He was never able to evolve, and his choices for movies was the worst. Old Blue Eyes, on the other hand stayed on top of his game almost until the end of his career. He was great in the movies, and he had the good sense to evolve and recognize other talent younger than he, e.g. his comment that George Harrison's "Something" was the greatest love song of all time. Also no one has or had the ability of prasing that Frank had. Elvis may have been king, but we do not live in a monarchy. Better to be Chairman of the Board than King any day.

I do remember Sinatra's remark about the Beatles "Something." I think he recorded the song too.

Btw, I won't give a long story, but back in the early 90's my friend and I, while in Vegas at a small off the wall casino, got asked if we wanted a job being Elvis swooners for an EP impersonator. lol Let me put it this way. I didn't quit my day job. lol

That one goes on my top ten "Vegas Stories" list. What a weird place that town is!

LOL That's why I LOVE Vegas. It really IS a fantasyland. lol A great escape from reality which is why I call it my therapy.

My very favorite Vegas story, which I know I've told but will briefly say again, is the time I was at the Sahara, pushed elevator button to go to my room and out walks a butt naked man. panic uhwhat lol He had his hands covering his woowoo and walked calmly to front desk as myself and others stared in amazement. Nobody took him away or questioned him. I'm thinking he got locked out of his room. (or kicked out) LOL

Ok, I know that's off topic so let me just note the Vegas connection. Elvis & Vegas go together like a hand in glove. There are Vegas EP impersonators galore in LV. smile

"Honeymoon in Vegas." From 1992. I'm told that this kid (Bruno Mars) is a pretty big pop star today.

Yup. That's him, Tis.

I love that movie. They're bringing it to Broadway later this year as a musical. Tony Danza is playing the James Caan role.

But stage presence and musical body of work? Sinatra. But you should love Dean, too. He was one of the great Italian Americans smile.

I was telling a story to my kids friends that I had a chance to meet Sinatra in Rao's one day, but my boss ruined it for me. Then my youngest sons friend told me she actually song in front of Sinatra when she was a little girl.
