Do the Bonnanos and Colombos have anything going on in New Jersey?
There's been a few cases involving the Bonanno family in Jersey in recent years. There was the 2000 case involving captain Joseph "Joe Black" DeSimone, the 2001 case involving captain Joseph Taormina, the 2002 case involving Filicomo and some other associates, the 2004 case involving both Lucchese and Bonanno associates involved in an oxycontin ring, and the 2009 case involving captain Joseph "Sammy" Sammartino and several others. Sammartino is said to oversee the family's operations in Jersey.
As for the Colombo family, there's been virtually no activity in Jersey, at least in the way of indictments, in quite a while. They are the most geographically-limited of all the NY families.
