This family is a bit of an enigma to me. The dad was a capo for scarfo that I do not know much of? 2 bros looking to kill each other over organised crime factions? 1 dead and the other disabled. and apparently the third brother was with the merlino faction but has now been shelved, why? Any guys from philly clued up on these?

I don't think the active Chang brother was shelved unless I missed something? But people on here know a lot more about this.

Johnny Chang is the third brother - word on the street is he may be laying low with 2 bits under his belt - a third would be a life sentence. Lots of questions in the Philly LCN with uncle joe and his crew on trial and the jury deliberating. Johnny Chang was fingered in the Billy Veasey hit by Ralph Natale for payback on John Veasey fatak hit on Mikey Chang. Johnny Chang was operating a lotto bodega in south Philly until the heat came on too much so he had to move on and maybe sell out. His status in the family is unknown - Stevie Mazzone is rumored to be acting street boss

Often when an old timer dies or gets put away the news stories call him a throwback mobster or last of the oldtime gangsters ect, That is what Joe "Chickie" Ciancaglini is. He was away during the Bruno era, got released and may have been free on the streets of Philly during the Scarfo era for a year, if that at all. Gets put away once again and is still doing his time, a true gangster through and through.

Johnny Chang from what I have stated on here about a year ago is out of the game from what I hear. 2 and done still commands the respect as if he is still in it and I'm sure gets something sent his way because of who he is. He was in prison during the Scarfo era and got out after the Merlino-Stanfa war was over and Merlino was in charge.

I honestly wonder exactly what his role was when he got out and if in fact he got a raw deal on the sentencing the 2nd time around. You never seen him out and about with Merlino and company at all the various bars and clubs back when they were media darlings. Despite having the name and the notoriety he is very low key compared to the rest of the guys of his generation.

What was his position on his son attempting to take out Scarfo Jr? And how/did this affect Chickie's relationship with Scarfo Sr?
