Quiet Dom was also caught with one

Tommy Shots: They want me running the family, don't they know I have a young wife?
Sal Vitale: (laughs) Tommy, jump in, the water's fine.

Here's the list that was confiscated from Junior Gotti in 1997. Proposed members on the left, and the dead guys they were replacing on the right.

Here's a retyped version of the induction list that was confiscated from Dom Cirillo in 2005. The left column is deceased members and when they died, right column is proposed members.

Yes. The same names were probably past around to all the families in order to sign off on them.

Chin's sons are Andrew Gigante and Vincent Esposito.

Yes. The same names were probably past around to all the families in order to sign off on them.

I've always found the Lucchese guys on that list a little curious, Ivy. And I'll tell you why.

Tommy Gelardo was made waaaaaaaaaay before 1997. He got his button in the very late '70s or very early '80s, right after Johnny "Peanuts" Manfredonia was killed. Peanuts and TJ (Gelardo) were Mount Vernon guys. Mount Vernon borders the Northeast Bronx. Peanuts was a made guy, possibly even an acting Lucchese capo, at one time. Right after he was murdered (in his own house), the word quickly went out that TJ was "in charge" up in Mount Vernon.

I also thought Rocky Vitulli was made by the Luccheses in the early '90s, not too long after the Kubecka-Barstow murders. Rocky's father, Nick, was a made guy in the Genovese family. They were Yonkers guys. Yonkers borders the Bronx on the Northwest. Nick owned Vitulli's restaurant on Willow Street in Yonkers for years. He was very tight with Larry "Black" Centore, and absolute powerhouse skipper with the Westside.

So I'm not sure how those two names ended up on that list. It's very possible that they were both jailed at the time, and that they were listed for that reason. But that's just a guess on my part. And it's not like the lawyers could argue, "Hey, these guys weren't proposed, they were made a long time ago." That argument wouldn't have done them any good at all.

My point is, I don't think the Feds knew exactly what they were looking at there. But in the end it didn't matter. Everyone in the 1998 Junior Gotti case ended up pleading out.

Let's not go down that road. I'm not involved in that nonsense and I'd like to keep it that way.

I've been to Vitulli's restaurant when I was a kid. I notice there's not much posted about the Yonkers crew. Does anyone have any stories they could share? I'm from that area and lived close to a restaurant that was called the Hawaii Sons (on Bronx River Road). I heard it was a mob run establishment.

I have an inkling that in more recent times several guys have been quietly made without anyone's knowledge, in other words lots of ghosts or sleepers. Now I know some smartass will chime in with some bullshit like, well duh that's how it's supposed to be. But the reason I'm saying this is that since about the mid-1980s to say, early 2000s, when the mob was making a bunch of noise and constantly in the papers, us mob enthusiasts practically had all the mob guys mapped out. I believe that's less the case today with them keeping such a low profile. That's just my thoughts. It's just a gut feeling though, I'm not saying for sure.

I have said that a few times:

From the 60’s and on they had atleast a few guys pretty high up feeding information.

I don’t know the official end but the Top Echelon Informer
program is dead.

Between Scarpa, and Whitey Burger’s handler’s both got indicted and charged with murder.
Devichio got off
Buglers handler got life I believe.

After that more recently you had Frank Sparaco who committed murders while in the program and Mark Rosetti

No more of the that program.
The O.C. Squads are a shell of what they were.
No more murders.
No more social clubs.
No more Rockerfella drug laws.

Learning from past mistakes and going back to its roots.

As I also previously said they don’t even know who the 1,2 and 3 guys are for any family.

Maybe the Luchesse’s because of Penessi.

They are certainly behind on new members as the families are probably holding new inductions yearly or every other year.
