Do you have a Public Pretender (Public Defender) at all? Your co-defendants attorney is fighting for him, because he's actually paid by your co-defendant, not by the county. If that's the case of course.

A Public Defender gets paid by the county, and most of the time are close to the DA. They hang out and go out on working lunches together all the time. They really can care less about the people they should be fighting for. You can always fire your attorney and ask your Judge for a court Appointed lawyer. They are much better.
