I read that in the camorra women sometimes happen to be in charge, but not in the Sicilian Cosa Nostra. Here in Italy I once watched a TV-series about the mafia which had women as bosses but I think it was presented in a laughable way, the mafiosi wouldn't obey young girls, if a woman has a chance to run things in a criminal organization, it would rather be an experienced "grandmother".
