Of course. They may get convicted anway. But what could theoretically happen is this: The jury announces a not guilty verdict. The boys cheer. The Philly wannabes applaud. The Feds have the marshals rearrest them a minute later in the very same courtroom, the very same day. No time to celebrate. It has happened before. They can just keep the indictment sealed until the verdict.

I can also see a mistrial be declared after the judge questions all the jurors and realizes that their verdicts would be affected by the murder/hey were exposed to news reports about the "mob" murder. A mistrial would be declared which would be bad for the defendants cause then they have to deal with a retrial and the court has to screen tons of jurors out for biased toward the mob murder, on top of the feds can add new charges to the case against these guys if nicodemo flips as well. I see a mistrial as a real good possibility at this point, which for many of the philly fanboys would be devastating cause they all thought these guys would walk out the courtroom.

Tommy Shots: They want me running the family, don't they know I have a young wife?
Sal Vitale: (laughs) Tommy, jump in, the water's fine.
