XDC, that's terrible! I'm so sorry. frown I really hope you don't have to get the other surgery and can instead retain the use of your hand. I can't even imagine how difficult that would be.

My mom has had surgery on both of her wrists in which a particular joint was removed, due to arthritis. She's worked both of them back to "normal" after each surgery, through hand movements that the doctor recommended as a kind of physical therapy. Just losing the use of her hands for the period of time until they recovered drove her nuts. I teased her about her handwriting and said that the Easter Bunny had visited us whenever I saw one of her (many) post-it notes around the house, because she was writing like the "Easter Bunny" used to when I was younger. wink
