I agree with Montague. Even if the source of the story may be dubious, "Rizzuto could try to make peace with his enemies, seek revenge for recent assassinations or simply retire"...or reporting and informing the NY guys an what the heck was/is going on up there, sounds extremely plausible to me.
So we shouldn´t dismiss it this soon.

If the story is true, some info (or rumors) may come out in the nearest future (due to the rats in NY) which should be interesting to analyze.
