I'm surprised there aren't more threads about De Vito or at least more in which he's mentioned. Here are three links to Gangster BB threads that do: Giuseppe De Vito on Gangster BB 1Giuseppe De Vito on Gangster BB 2Giuseppe De Vito on Gangster BB 3Christiane Desjardins of La Presse reported in his online article from last night that there is an investigation at the moment regarding a price put on the head of Giuseppe De Vito, who apparently was placed in solitary confinement as soon as he arrived at the Centre de réception in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines this past June 28. The Google translation of the article isn't very good, and you'll see I've copied and pasted it farther below anyway. But here are some highlights from the article: *De Vito doesn't seem too concerned. *The Crown prosecutor doesn't know who is targeting De Vito, how De Vito has been targeted, or when De Vito was targeted. *De Vito's lawyer thinks whoever is threatening De Vito should be put in solitary confinement, not De Vito himself. *De Vito does not want to be placed in an isolation wing of the penitentiary. Link: http://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/quebec...mise-a-prix.phpGoogle translation:The head of Giuseppe De Vito is a priceCHRISTIANE DESJARDINS La PressePosted September 5, 2012 at 11:09 | Updated September 5, 2012 at 11:09 On the grounds that his head was brought in, Giuseppe De Vito is held in solitary confinement since he arrived at the reception center in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines, June 28 The 45 year old man, believed to be an influential member of the Italian Mafia traditional vigorously contests the legality of this action in the Superior Court. "The police find things on the ground, fires, they collect information. But there is no assumption. They believe that members of traditional organized crime are potential targets. My client can only make a general denial, he knows nothing. He was imprisoned for several months and he has never had a problem," pleaded Mrs. Sylvie Bordelais, yesterday, noting that the information given to Mr. De Vito are meager and vague. Mr. De Vito also considers that did not pay for individuals who could blame him. It is rather that they should be in solitary confinement, said the lawyer. "His head was a price. We do not know by whom, when, how ... There is an ongoing investigation. The population is changing at the reception center. We do not know where the danger comes," replied the federal Crown, Toni Abi Nasr. This indicated that the information was credible and that it was not [an attempt to trip up] Mr. De Vito. "We do not know who will be the murderer, and even if you knew you could not tell," he conceded. The prosecutor also explained that there is another solution to protect Mr. De Vito wing protection, where there is no deprivation of liberty. But Mr. De Vito refuses to be placed. The hearing yesterday was to determine whether the request of Mr. De Vito deserves to be heard. Crown believes not, but the judge found that Martin Fraser yes. Mr. De Vito is entitled to a hearing to explore the grounds "vague and difficult to understand," said the judge. The hearing will take place in October. The Reception Centre is a classification, where inmates are transient. Mr. De Vito will doubtless left to go to a penitentiary that time. But his lawyer believes that the issue should be resolved, because it will affect the result of the detention of his client. De Vito was sentenced to 15 years in prison last June after being convicted of conspiracy to import cocaine. He was one of the many accused of hitting Coliseum, which took place in 2006 against the Italian Mafia. It has been found long after his comrades, is that it is hidden for four years. During the run, the two girls died, and his wife, Adele Sorella, suspected of being the author of the murder, must be considered next spring. Finally, note that Mr. De Vito appealed his conviction and sentence. He denies being a member of the mafia, but admits there have knowledge. A few days ago, individuals have shot two masked men who were at QV's Italian coffee. One, Moez Ben Ali bin Zaid, was killed, while another Lafratta Marco, one of three new owners of the building, was injured. Coliseum during the investigation, the police claimed that coffee was controlled by QV's Giuseppe De Vito.
