You may joke this topic around. But the truth is, according to a study relesed in Europe only (cannot be found on the internet, I´m afraid), mobsters are now using socks to communicate with eachother. Different colors of socks means different things. They use socks as a code. For example, black socks means "to hit someone"; white socks means "we just made you"; blue socks means "the boss is upset with you"; green socks means "go ahead" and red socks means "stop right there". The problem is, according to the study, most mobsters are colorblind and therefore unable to understand the coded messages. This has led to a total confusion among the mobsters and an increasing number of informants. Another proof of the Mafia being its own worst enemy.
