1. The Pope of Greenwich Village. This is what it is like being an Italian-American growing up in NYC. They pinned it. Also a great Book.

2. There are two movies 'The Thief'; I prefered the
latter w/Alex Baldwin in the starring role. Sonny Caen was in the earlier film.

3.On the Waterfront. How could anyone forget it. It is The Mob Movie.

4. Joe Montagna lovers-- 'Things Change' w/Don Ameche.

5. Reaching way back-- Public Enemy w/James Cagny-- The best gangster role ever.

6. Little Ceaser w/Edward G. Robinson. Another knock yer socks off older film.

Bogart, Robinson & Cagny made dozens of organized crime films back in the 1930s thru the 1950s. Also Richard Widmark made a big splash into the genre, though by that time it was being called film noir. Also the French have made alotta gangster films. See 'Breathless', the French film not the Hollywood version. It's the French 'Goodfellas', giving a background of the life of a French criminal Foot Soldier. whistle
