Have you often wondered about the Power Rangers and how stereotypical they are. Specially the first generation.

You have Trini, the Vietnamese girl (RIP), as the yellow ranger. Zach, the token black man, is the Black Ranger. Cute as cotton candy Kimberly (the typical valley girl) as the Pink Ranger. And All-American Boys Tommy, Jason and Billy as the Rangers of White, Red and Blue (Unless Jason is a Native American, in which case...)

Thankfully, we never met Hector the Brown Ranger

Uh, he's right, isn't he? That show was 100% politically correct. A well diverse cast destroying monsters (in a very cheesy and low budget way).

God I hate that show. tongue

Yeah I hear you man. Is like my uncle Hector Brown used to say

''Mijo, one day people will judge by the color of your skin. Don't mind them and go ahead and enjoy life.''

My uncle Hector was a wise man and a fine forest ranger. He went through a lot of crap back in the sixties.

Thank God for Cesar Chavez

And to the fellow that talked about the Power Rangers- Yeah, they were cheesy and formulaic. That's probably why is now a stoner classic

Or so my nephew says

POWER RANGERS....wow, a quick and painful trip to my childhood. I didn't notice how back in the day its old 70's/80's usual Japanese fighting robot/monster show that just got re-released in the States with new stuff.

While Gen-X had ULTRAMAN, Gen-Y got POWER RANGERS. What a crappy trade!

lol That's why I'm not too excited. wink

I really might take you up on the offer with calculus, which I appreciate. My teacher for pre-cal last year was wonderful - he was fun, so that we didn't get too bored, but he explained everything so well. I've heard rumors about this year's teacher, so if she ends up being a dud, I might be coming here for homework help. lol It seems that my math teachers alternate over the years of being great and terrible, so we'll see if the pattern continues.

I've watched several Samurai Champloo episodes on Adult Swim, and it was good, although I don't really like the hip-hop/modern aspects of it. Otherwise the characters and shows are pretty entertaining.

tongue wink I can't imagine you trying to learn anything if she were your teacher. lol

Oh, I did notice a funny thing about my history teacher today. I think he was talking about students who don't read the lessons out of the book, as they should, and he said something about how they "play little games." As soon as I heard this phrase, I realized how much he sounded like Senator Geary in the Godfather! His voice mixed with that line immediately reminded me of that - and later, I decided he also sounded like the John Shooter character in Secret Window. lol

I got my digital camera in the mail today. It's a Nikon Coolpix 7900 7.1 MP Digital Camera (its so tiny, it's about the size of my cell phone!). When I figure out how the hell to use it, I'll be sure to post some pics.

You could have responded with (even though out of order) :
Teacher we're both part of the same hypocrisy. But never think it applies to my family tongue

Also don't hesitate to tell some of these "teachers" who you know wink

Yeah smile I have the 1st and 2nd ones on DVD and the 3rd one I seen at the cinema but didnt like it as much as the first 2. My favourite of the 3 would have to be The Chamber of Secrets smile I enjoyed that one, maybe its because thats the only book I have read.

Ive got all the books aswell except the new one but I am waiting until it comes out on paperback as thats what my other ones are.

You've only read book 2!? eek I read the first 3 in 2 weeks and am about to start book 4. I'm so excited because I haven't seen the movie yet (naturally) so the story is still unknown to me. I as well have the movies and would probably rank the movies:

1) Sorcerer's Stone
2) Prisoner of Azkaban
3) Chamber of Secrets

Books would be:
1) Prisoner of Azkaban
2) Sorcerer's Stone
3) Chamber of Secrets

Yeah well kids will do that. I'm glad they're sticking with the original 3 kids because I heard after 3 or 4 they were thinking of recasting (HORRIBLE idea!) I'm sure Harry Potter in the books ages too (unless he knows some anti-aging spell/potion)
