Yeah, I've also only heard that the Italian clans only use GB for money laundering and since there are already established organized crime groups in the UK, the Italian clans even if they did want to set up there, they probably would have to fight a few violent gangs wars which they probably don't want because they want to keep things more quiet. I don't think they'd have any difficulty though in taking out their rivals, I think it's all a matter of secrecy and being low key. However how come in Britain there are never really any gang wars, with the amount of crime groups here, they aren't violent at all when compared to other countries...
