I just watched some of Buffalo's finest arrest a guy across from my house for DUI/DWI. He failed the sobriety test miserably.

People like that infuriate me. I hope he loses his license for good, but probably not. He'll most likely be back on the road in 6 months.

My baby cousin loves watching "The Wiggles," and they're driving me nuts. It's those four Australian guys that sing songs on these videos for kids. The terrible thing is that their songs are catchy, and one has been stuck in my head the whole day since I heard it this morning. lol

Part - I've heard that shopping is a substitute for the gratification that a person used to get from sex.

Part, many women like to shop for handbags and shoes because they'll always fit, no matter if you gain a few pounds. I noticed that you went out and bought ties and socks, a few more items where, dare I say it, size doesn't matter.

As for my shopping experience, the thrill is in the hunt - for the bargain!!

I went to a live WWE SmackDown! event in Ocean City last night, and had a blast. The RAW event I went to last year was much better (there were much bigger names last year, i.e. HHH, Kurt Angle, Kane, Benoit, Jericho, Edge, Orton). The match of the night, by far last night, was Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio. They put on a wrestling clinic. The main event was also pretty kick ass. It was J.B.L. vs. Batista for the World Heavyweight title. The biggest pop of the night was Batista. The crowd was alive the whole match, and he got a lot of "Batista" chants. Muhammad Hassan got the most heat. He was booed so bad, he couldn't even talk. Tony Chimel, the ring announcer, unplugged Davari's mic while he was ranting in Arabic, which got a huge pop. All in all, it was awesome, but my throat is hurting from all the screaming. Can't wait for next year!

That sounds very cool. Especially considering it must have been 110 degrees there yesterday. eek

Yea, 110 degrees is about right, but it was about 400 degrees in the Ocean City convention center. It didn't matter, though. There was plenty of cold beer. wink

How long does it usually take a book to be released in paperback? I'm just wondering how long it'll be until Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is released in paperback format?

Depends on the book. For example, I don't believe The DaVinci Code is available yet in paperback. I bought Harry Potter for my daughter yesterday at Target for $17.

<--- This is Willy Taveras, our rookie CF!

If you'll notice, SB now has Jeter as her avatar, I have Willy, and Beth has Vinny Castilla...a bit of a ladies' thread fad. grin

Well, we might not have great minds...

Beth started it with her Vinny pic. I wanted one of Willy, and then SB wanted one of Jeter, and Geoff made both of ours.

I'm clueless with avatars, but I'm happy now. lol

Irish, Of course we all have great minds!! Why else would we be here on the BB?? I love my new avatar. DJ is smiling at me every time I post now.

Is there no Target near you? I was very happy to buy it for her because we had seen it the day before in Best Buy for $30. Target had it for $16.86, which was an unusual number. Target always has the best prices on everything.

My brother dreamed last night that George Bush said this in a statement: "If there was at least 100 squirrels in any state park, the squirrles will rule the country, and Asia."

Weird, huh? He actually dreamed that W said that!

Well I'm happy because I just purhcased the first 5 Harry Potter books for $61 (not including shipping). What I'm really happy about is that yes the books are used (at least books 1 & 2) but the books are first editions cool

I've purchased out of print books (nice way to say used) from Amazon and they always come in excellent condition. It's a great way to pick up a copy of something.

I was going to do that from Wal-Mart.com. I was just gonna buy the first 5 in a box set for like $23 and change but then I found out my parents got me book 6 on Saturday so I decided I would like to have the hardbooks. Then they were all expensive and I wanted to see how much more the first editions would be and they weren't really that much more so I decided to buy them

I can't get into Harry Potter. It seems so damn silly to me. My best friend loves this stuff, and is in college. I think it's really annoying. I watched the movies, in toleration. Give me Tom Clancy any day.

Um...I have a first edition DM's Guide, it is in the shittest condition that something can be in and still be considered a book.
Now my Oriental Adventures Book is in top condition, probably the best condition of all of my books.

This is hilarious... lol I love hearing about people's dreams, because they're always so strange, yet so funny...and it's fun to try to connect what happened in the dream to what's happened in "real life."

I'm sure there's been a "dream thread" before, but it'd be interesting to have some kind of dream blog where all the BB members can share theirs...the ones that are okay to post, that is. lol

I can't just believe these people. Look what they sent as a trivia piece to me and today is not April 1st:

What's the best way to protect youself from a vampire?

According to folklore, there are a number of ways to protect yourself from vampires, including the ever-popular wearing of garlic or a religious symbol. You can slow a vampire down by giving him something to do, like pick up poppy seeds or unravel a net. (They're quite compulsive.) Cross water and he can't follow. If you can find the body, give it a bottle of whiskey or food so it doesn't have to travel. If that doesn't work, either shoot the corpse (may require a silver bullet) or drive a stake through the heart. And remember, the vampire won't enter your dwelling unless invited.

I'm so happy. I haven't picked up The Hobbit in almost 3 months and I just read 40 pages which consisted of 2 chapters at work. I'm starting to get into it all over again (but I kinda forgot the beginning). Now when I'm done I wanna read the Harry Potter books
