Na, I can stay on the computer and read but I'm preoccupied right now studying for the GMAT test until I take it (July 16). Plus, I'm trying to watch as many movies as I can through Blockbuster Online. So time for reading is really scarce right now and it might not be any better even after I finish the GMAT test. But don't worry fathersson, I'll be right here to keep you company grin

My favorite new nail polish color is OPI's Chick Flick Cherry. I'm not sure which I like more - the color or the name.

I love that color! I also love OPI, by the way... all their colors have cool names like that. But yeah, Chick Flick Cherry is one of my favorites, I've been using it for like four or five years. I also like The Thrill of Brazil for toenails in the summer. It's still red, but with a tiny bit of an orange tint so it looks more tropical. See, the first one is the Brazil one, the second one is the Cherry.

lol I'm so girly, I can talk nail polish for hours. We should start a beauty products thread.

they're all RED Zia! No need to buy 3!

It reminds me of a guy I used to know. One of our friends was talking about going on a date and she tells him she has to go get nail polish because it's the first date. He says what does it matter? it's called NAIL polish not BOOB polish. lol

Boys will never understand. I do my nails for me, with colors I like... I don't do it for my boyfriend. I asked my boyfriend once, about 3 years ago "Is this nail polish too matte?" and he said, "You're wearing nail polish? What does matte mean?" lol That was the first and last time I mentioned anything about nails, hair, or makeup to him.

To women, it makes a difference. Not only do I have those three, but I have 2 more reds in the OPI brand, and then I have a few in other brands as well. I have a Christian Dior one that is my favorite red in the entire world, but I only use that for specific events, because in about two days, it starts peeling. lol

I can't even start on how many almost-white/sheer-milky-pink colors I have. tongue

eek eek eek Put the nail polish down and slowly back away

I personally do not like makeup ON WOMEN ( lol ) I prefer in terms of nails maybe that thing where there is a white bar across the end of the finger tip and then on face maybe some eye lash stuff but besides that I think it should be all natural.

Good lord, Zia! eek If it wasn't for the numbers on each color, I'd never be able to tell the difference on some!

I've never really been into makeup or nail polish. lol

You like it when it's not on women? confused lol
The nails thing you're saying is a French manicure, and the eyelash stuff is mascara. For future reference. wink
I like the natural look too, but I say "natural look" because most of the time, it's not just mascara. Usually they (we) are still wearing makeup, but they're natural colors.

And usually, especially in magazines or movies (but also in real life) what looks natural usually takes more work than the more obvious makeup with darker colors. Not that you'll read this far anyway. lol

No I did read the whole thing tongue My fiance only wears mascara (word of the day) and lip gloss that's it.

What I find funny is women will wear 100 pounds of makeup and then when joe schmoe gets grey hair and dies it black they make a big stink over it. lol

Yay! Nice work, you used your new word. lol

Some days I feel pretty in the morning, so I'll just throw on some mascara too, and I'll be fine... maybe a little lipgloss later in the day.

But most of the time I wear a little bit of eyeliner with it, and maybe some shadow. I don't use a lot of foundation or powder though (to you, that's the skin-colored stuff that goes on the rest of the face besides the eyes and lips tongue ). I just put sunscreen/moisturizer on my face. But for most girls, "natural" means foundation, powder, blush, eyeliner, 2 shades of eyeshadow, mascara, lipliner, and lipgloss.

Actually, I wear a lot less makeup than everyone else I know. I just have a lot of it; way more than I actually use. I have like 30 lipsticks, and I never wear them. lol I just like buying makeup, it's fun.

Actually, my father taught me how to put on makeup. My dad was a pharmacist and back then, most women bought their makeup in drugstores. He had to go for training with the Helena Rubinstein company, so he actually showed me how to put makeup on.

My other favorite OPI colors are Kennebunk-port and Bubble Bath. I used to like one that was something about Prince George, or St. George, but I haven't seen it in awhile. My other fav is Essie's Ballet Slippers for french manicures.

After recently "reviving" my Blues Brothers obsession, I've become addicted to all the great songs! I've mentioned the movies elsewhere, but I wanted to talk about the actual songs here. The Blues Brothers Band itself is great, but there are so many other amazing musicians that are in the movies, that it just becomes a wonderful music collection. Despite it being a mediocre storyline, I really enjoyed Blues Brothers 2000's songs, as well. Below are the main songs I like (though not all of them):

Blues Brothers:
- Think (Great Aretha scene!)
- Shake Your Tailfeather (Great Ray scene!)
- Sweet Home Chicago (Blues Brothers Band - BBB)
- Everybody Needs Somebody To Love (BBB)
- Gimme Some Lovin' (BBB - "That ain't no Hank Williams song!" lol )
- Rawhide Theme (BBB)
- Stand By Your Man (BBB)
- Minnie the Moocher (Cab Calloway!)
- Jailhouse Rock (BBB)

Blues Brothers 2000:
- John the Revelator (I love Joe Morton's voice!)
- Funky Nassau
- R-E-S-P-E-C-T (Aretha makes an encore performance)
- How Blue Can You Get
- Turn On Your Lovelight
- New Orleans
- Maybe I'm Wrong
- 634-5789
- Riders in the Sky

The sequel is minus John Belushi (RIP) and plus Joe Morton, John Goodman, and J. Evan Bonifant, so it is different, but I think they've still got some good music, and wonderful musicians.

Anyway, I didn't mean to write this much, but I was on a roll. grin Let me know if any of y'all are also fans of these songs.

Gina, I did not see the BB 2000, but I love all the musical numbers from the first one, especially the Ray Charles and Aretha numbers. I do love all the numbersblues that they did at Bob's Country Bunker (We're the Good Ol' Brothers Band!).

Thanks for replying, SB, even though I've probably chatted your ear off about the Blues Brothers! wink

Yeah, I like the Bob's Country Bunker scene. "Oh, we got both kinds! Country and western!" lol

It's just amazing how they were able to get so many wonderful musicians together for one movie.

Hey, I just cut off all my hair!! I have typical thick, curly Italian hair and it was taking forever to dry it. In this weather, that just stinks. After blow-drying, I felt like I needed another shower. I went in for a haircut today, and impulsively told my hairdresser to cut it off. I have ears!! I love it, but methinks that Mr. Babe is not going to be too happy.
