Any thoughts on who (or what) would be the next best person, family, heist etc to base a good mafia movie on?

I'm thinking the Gemini Twins would be good..think a deMeo movie was discussed but doesn't seem to have come to anything... there would be a fair amount to keep the movie going as well..GTA, middle eastern contacts, double crossing cubans, forced to whack close friends, the westies (also would be a good movie)..

I'd love to see a movie based on Carlo Gambino.

That would be amazing i'd also like to see one based on Vito Genovese .

A DeMeo crew movie would be good but theres so much to that story that the movie would be "watered down" quite a bit. Theres so many characters and events, etc.
I think this movie about the Iceman coming out next year actually looks pretty good. Ray Liotta is playing Roy DeMeo - that should be a hell of a performance.
Michael Shannon as the Iceman should be good too.

For me it would have to be one on the recent Colombo Family War (Scarpa, Orena, Persico, etc) or one on Anthony Casso or Chin Gigante.

Lucania...not a fictional story like "Mobsters",but the real story,should be at least 3 and a half hours movie,the castelammarese wars,the comming up,the bootleg years,WWII,cuban casinos,the drug connection sicily/usa and Lucianos misterious death.

Lucania as "Toodoped" said,or Anthony Casso.

I'd like to see an Outfit movie, maybe starting with the burglary of Accardo's. Or one about Sam Destefano, portrayed by Max Cady as portryed bij Robert de Niro :-).

Something about the Colombo war in the 90s. A movie about Scarfo would also be good, but at least there are many documentaries about the Philadelphia family, while there is almost nothing about the Colombos. Also, I would like to see a movie about the Rochester family: while not very important, the story about the big frame-up, the following war and the following trials would be interesting.
By the way, do you think it could be possible they don't want to do movies about Scarfo, the Colombos or Casso and Amuso because they are still alive and could sue them for inconsistencies in the movies? A movie about "the iceman" Kuklinski is being made, but only after he died, for example.

I would like to see one about the boston prov mafia how it merged the killing of wallace in 31 buccola merging prov and boston the dispute of the real power in the 30s40s50s lombardo or buccola, gennaro running the nubers and bets after lombardo shut it down because the comitee on crimes in 51, patraica take over and reign, the boston war (mostly irish) in 60s that effected the mob big time the hoe barboza frame patraica death his sons reign whitey n steve effects the war in 90,s that claimed like 20 lives in like 8 years and the indictmens from 2001 and so forth will be idk I guess in reading prints....now thats a family movie

I like Ray but i don't really see him as Roy but who knows hopefully it'll be good. Also what part will Roy play in the movie i read somewhere Kuklinski only met him once to buy a gun off him.

I'd like to see an epic Youngstown mob movie made, but there's probably little interest in this except locally.

I suppose half of such a film would consist of footage of cars exploding.

I heard they are making a movie about The Animal Barbosa and Benecio del Toro is playing him, also heard that Whitey Bulger contacted Mark Wahlberg about playing him in a movie based on Bulger's life....

I heard the Whitey Bulger thing as well... i'd love to see benicio in that role! that would be good!

The character Frank Costello played Jack Nicholson in the Departed was supposedly based on Whitey
